Feather Skirt

Well it was Rachel's 21st and so four of decided to go out for a very sophisticated meal and drinks. A free bottle of wine each with our meal however put our 'sophistication' on a downward slope ending up getting in at around 3/4 o'clock. Some strange women gave us free champagne, however when one decided to unbutton her trousers telling us she would turn bisexual for us we decided to make a very swift move onto the next bar. It was a hilarious night, plenty of giggles and memories and I hope Rachel had a good night!

As it was a special occasion, I decided to dress up a little bit and wear this feathery skirt. I absolutely love it, feathers and sequins just all add to the flapper feel of the skirt. I teamed it with a simple black top and heels, a little bit boring but I thought this is a skirt that needs to stand out... AND it was only a Sunday night in Lancaster. Despite this, there was one slightly problem: a good fair share of my feathers were on the floor by the end of the evening, however the nice lady in Zara felt my pain and allowed me to get another one!

Heels - River Island ( a bit old and mucky I know)

Hope you love it as much as me...

chiffon maxi skirt

The wedding of the year, it was a serious Pye family occasion. It all took place in Hertford College in Oxford and it was absolutely beautiful, a warm sunny day, pink fizz on the grass that you can get fined on for walking across unless its special occasions, and this certainly was, along with fresh purple flowers everywhere. My auntie looked absolutely stunning, as you would expect from the bride, but this dress was something else, and she didn't stop smiling all day which just made it even better!! Now as I have said if you meet my family, you will know we don’t do celebrations lightly. Despite the fact she organised a fantastic day for everyone there was one thing my auntie didn't think of, and that was the fact that we don’t go to bed 1 o'clock in the morning, in fact we go to bed at 4 or 5. After a fantastic day we again ended up drinking at the hotel bar.... My auntie Barbara had already given her number out to few men ‘to see her garden’ (a very privileged thing), my little brother was tucked up in bed after throwing up his dinner outside, Jackie had drunkenly scoffed the buffet and then threw her shoes across the bar, my auntie got lost in the hotel and my dad managed to direct her back to her room after which she fell over the bed and into a table, and I was perfectly well behaved aside from not being very happy with the hotel staff because my room key didn't work and the small fact that I woke up in my bikini with wedding cake crusted into the carpet. By the end of the night I don’t think many people were standing straight due to the fact there was just simply far too much wine flowing around! Well to the wedding of the year, what did I wear?? This nude maxi skirt, pleated pannels, chiffon, slits at the side, I LOVE IT. The pictures show me in a grey top but in fact I found a blue floral shirt (a very last minute decision) which I ended up wearing along with my aviators as is was a sunny day! (See the picture with my mum and auntie)

Clean White

It is always all over the spring summer catwalks and I just love crisp clean white with a little bit of a tan (au natural of course....) and I think this dress is a perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. It was my aunties wedding this weekend and if you’ve had the pleasure to meet my family then you will know that we don’t do celebrations lightly. We had dinner on the Friday evening in oxford and I, my little brother and my uncle decided it was only fitting to order a cheeky cocktail. We ended up sat in the hotel bar drinking till the early hours, not a very good idea the night before the big day, and it was a big day to say the least. I shall thrill you with some of the fantastic stories in a later post!!

Marni for H&M

After a lot of anticipation and excitement, I got myself there, on Thursday 8th March, for the H&M Marni collection. It was all sealed off from the rest of the shop with a couple of security guards there – it definitely felt rather exclusive so say the least haha!! There were some absolutely gorgeous things, however my budget was slightly limited (as usual), and some things I felt were perhaps a little old for me..However I still NEEDED a purchase. I bought this t-shirt which I absolutely LOVE, and have worn it to death already. Added from that I bought the iconic maxi dress seen on all the adverts, cliché I know, but what the hell. And it being my Dad’s birthday I even got him involved in the excitement as well. I bought him this shirt, a little apprehensive that he might think it was a bit too wild for him, but he loved it! Because I went back a few times, first to purchase my items, then my dad’s shirt, I got lots of bags which is always a plus. Everything was so cool – right down to the black and white hangers (which I am also DEFINITLEY keeping, although I had to be kind and give one to my mum as she was stuck in little old Lancaster with not even a sniff of a H&M close by!)
I wore this outfit out last Friday - I know it’s been a while since my last blog. Anyway, it was a usual night out with my flat mate Alice, lots of tequilas, plenty of dancing, a naughty takeaway on the way home and waking up with a dehydrated dry mouth and a sore head. But what the hell – I’m only 21 once, right?

silver.

I've been working too hard recently, and probably playing too hard recently as well. The problem is that I'm terrified - I'm leaving uni soon, my house will be gone and the big question is what am I going to do? Hence I'm making the most of it!!

On to the blog, and this silver cardigan/jacket/coat. I love it. The shape, the colour, the texture but I still don't know what to call it. I bought it from H&M and at the moment I just can't get enough of the shop, there is some amazing things in there. From pastels, metallics, paisley to florals, its got everything you need for spring/summer 2012. Oh and the small addition of Marni at H&M (but we'll see more of that soon!)I hope you like it as much as I do!

stripy leggings

Initially I was a little bit unsure about these leggings, as I worried that I may look like a burglar or worse, the boy in striped pyjamas. However, I am officially a fan. I bought them off eBay – shipped from Hong Kong with the label saying ‘one legging’, which my housemate found rather amusing!
I think they’re great for all the print leggings and jeans around this season and perfect for spring. When the sun was shining today in Leeds it brought out the summer mood in me, although it is still cold and wintery here, so delving into the floral jeans and t-shirt might be a step too far for the moment. Added to that, vertical stripes on your legs – you can’t complain with the slimming element of these leggings either!
